I must begin with an apology, before progressing to massive excitement about new music and UK tour dates.
A fun Friday afternoon later, fiddling with email lists and realising some folk signed up in 2016 and are hearing from me for the first time! This is not what any life coach or productivity expert would classify as ‘reaching your best self’ (or maybe it is! Help!). (#goals #dreambig.) There are a few places where people can sign up to the mailing list and sometimes I forget to go and collect them. Ahem. So if you’ve forgotten me between then and now and don’t want to be on the list any more, I understand, (*wipes tear*) but before you go have a free download of my take on trad song St James Infirmary Blues, described as ‘a beautiful rendition’ ‘infectious and stompin’ or ‘nice production, songwriting needs more work’ depending which blogger you trust. Honestly, I’d be ecstatic if I’d written this song, so I trust the first blogger, personally.
So. Those of you who got involved in the crowdfund (THANK YOU!) have already had the album for a little while and I hope you’re enjoying it, but the public release is on 30th March and it’s available for preorder now. Some nice bits of press coming in as summarised above, I think a ‘breezy delight’ is my favourite. Who couldn’t use some extra breezy delight in their life??
I am also Breezin’ or Blowin’ or Gustin’ into some UK destinations soon as the first instalment of The Imagination Tour, and you’re all invited! If it’s a long way to come for the eve but you know someone who’d enjoy it, feel free to pass the info on to them:
30 March Voodoo rooms
1 April Vox Box Edinburgh
2 April The Bluebell Belford
5 April Slaughtered Lamb London
6 April The House Presents Dublin
10 April The Hastings Seaton Delaval
12 April, The Underground Bradford
10 May The Critter Sessions Edinburgh
I can’t wait to come and play this material for you!
Thank you for reading. It is (are you ready for my hashtag moment?) a really privilege to be at this point of having made a third album and getting to go out and play music and meet music-lovers and hear music! I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to keep working in music and I do enjoy sharing this enthusiasm.
Hope to see you on t’internet or at one of the tour dates! If you have a fave song you’d like to hear, by all means submit it for consideration to the wildcard cover section of the set 🙂
